FSAUtility.exe “The network path was not found”

Ok,

I was trying to push (recall) some archived items out of the Enterprise Vault File Archiving Store. To do this, I would normally run the FSAUtility. However, this time I kept getting the following error:

“Fileserver %ServerName% : The network path was not found”

After many painful support calls to Symatec, this was the resolution…

The FSAUtility checks all of the Archive Points listed in the EV Console before doing the recall. If any of the Archive Points are no longer valid, or EV cannot access the shares (for example, due to permissions) then the above error will be displayed.

So, go into your EV Admin Console and:

1. Navigate to your File Archiving targets (Console Root|Enterprise Vault| Directory on %EVServerName%| %Org Name%| Targets| File Servers| %Server Name%).

2. Right click on each Volume and select “Archive Points…”

3. Try to expand each sharename. If you can’t expand it, check the share on your file server. You may have NTFS permissions problems or the share may no longer be present.

NOTE: The FSA command will not run if you cant expand any of the sharenames. Resolve this issue, then your file restore should work.
